Salary: ASMS Senior Medical & Dental Officers MECA, Medical & Dental Specialists scale ($170,369 - $250,560)

Role Overview: Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti is seeking a non-invasive Adult Cardiologist with skills in non-invasive cardiac imaging to provide support for our Echocardiogram services and clinical oversight of Echocardiogram reports to meet New Zealand guidelines. Experience in CT coronary angiography (CTCA) and Cardiac MRI is desirable, as well as expertise in clinical trials.
Responsibilities:
Conduct outpatient clinics and ward consultations.
Report investigations and provide support for clinical colleagues, cardiac physiologists, and cardiac technicians.
Oversee echocardiography triaging and protocoling imaging requests.
Participate in service development and implementation with Tairawhiti SMO Physicians and Waikato Cardiology.
Play a key role in the design, build and delivery of the District wide cardiac project "Heart Hauora Tairawhiti - Save a Thousand Lives".
The cardiology service in Tairawhiti aims to improve cardiac health for the people of Tairawhiti and reduce inequities of health outcomes in an isolated and rural community.
