About the Position
This position is located in our well-equipped Cardiology department where we undertake a wide range of cardiovascular investigations and treatments including advanced cardiovascular imaging - cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI, advanced Interventional services - PCI and complex cardiac rhythm device insertion.
It is a combined Team Leader / Cardiac Sonographer role responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Echocardiography Service. The role is based in Nelson but will require travel to Wairau Hospital Blenheim from time to time. Our Cardiology team prides itself on being friendly and supportive and works with the people of our community to promote, encourage and enable their health, well-being and independence.
This role would be best suited to a person who values teamwork, respects individual needs and is motivated by excellent clinical outcomes.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 80 hours per fortnight (Monday to Friday between 7.00 am to 6.00 pm), no on-call.
The salary for this position is within the range $120,285 - $137,710 per annum pro rata as per the APEX Sonographers Collective dependent on skills, experience and relevant qualifications.
Who is an Appropriate Applicant?
You will have:
Postgraduate qualification in cardiac ultrasound (QUT or DMU), other qualifications considered
MRTB registration (or ability to be registered)
Annual practicing certificate (or ability to obtain)
Extensive experience as a cardiac sonographer
Experience in operational leadership
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Flexible and able to prioritize workload
Motivational leader with self-awareness, personal integrity, and positivity
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
