Job Description: CampusCare AssistantTo support the Campus Services portfolio through the delivery of operational services to the campus. Specifically to undertake a wide range of day-to-day tasks such as cleaning, waste management, portering, mailroom, security, room set up, event support, traffic management etc, and thereby achieve positive campus experiences for our staff and students.

Accountabilities:
Support the delivery of a range of functions (including but not limited to) security, emergency wardens, cleaning, waste disposal, recycling, confidential waste, mail sorting & delivery, logistic support, pest control, emergency management, and event support.
Work closely with internal staff and/or contractors in the successful delivery of Campus Services outcomes.
Contribute to the sustainability of the campus including adherence to any requirements of recycling activities and waste disposal and practical monitoring of unnecessary energy use.
Lock and unlock rooms and buildings as required and as directed.
Maintain the campus environment by reporting any incidents of fly-tipping, damage, vandalism, maintenance and repairs to the Operational Support team in a timely manner.
Check general teaching spaces on a weekly basis and at the beginning of each semester for cleanliness, general damage, furniture set up, ensuring egress routes and entrances/exits are clear and unobstructed.
Provide support and assistance to university staff, students and tenants on campus with a range of tasks including the relocation of furniture and equipment using a combination of in-house staff and removals contractors.
Support furniture movements and tasking from the MUTU system.
Customer service: Provide all Massey University users with an effective and efficient service that allows them to enjoy their time on our sites, in a safe and secure manner.
Participate in and assist with the delivery of university and departmental events and conferences.
Health & Safety:
Comply with all relevant legislation and University Health and Safety policy.
Ensure that vehicles are used in a manner that is consistent with all relevant university Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Identify and report incidents and near misses appropriately and engage in routine monitoring and identification of hazards in the workplace.
Demonstrate appropriate care and concern for the health and safety of self, campus population and visitors at all times.
Assist in the response to all on-campus emergencies, incidents and events in a manner that is professional, proactive and supports the policies and procedures of Massey University.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current clean full car Class 1 driver's licence.
HT licence or the ability to achieve this within 6 months of commencing employment if requested to do so.
Forklift licence and OSH certificate is desirable.
1 - 2 years of experience within the facilities management sector in a hospital or educational setting is desirable.
Demonstrable experience working with customers is essential.
Current First Aid certificate or the ability to achieve this within 6 months of commencing employment.
