Position Overview:
The Camp and Food Coordinator will be responsible for managing and organizing accommodation and meal provisions for cherry pickers throughout the season. This role ensures a smooth, comfortable, and well-organized living experience for seasonal workers, maintaining a positive environment to support their productivity and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Camp Setup and Maintenance:
Organize and set up camp facilities, including sleeping areas, communal spaces, and sanitation facilities.
Regularly inspect accommodations to ensure cleanliness, comfort, and safety.
Coordinate any repairs, maintenance, or improvements needed throughout the season.
Meal Planning and Preparation:
Develop daily meal plans that are nutritious, energizing, and cater to diverse dietary needs.
Organize breakfast service each morning, ensuring it's available on time for pickers to start their day.
Source local suppliers for ingredients and manage food inventory.
Community Engagement and Support:
Act as the main point of contact for seasonal workers, addressing any accommodation or meal-related concerns.
Foster a welcoming environment, encouraging camaraderie and teamwork within the camp.
Logistics and Coordination:
Coordinate with the orchard management team to align camp operations with picking schedules and rest periods.
Maintain a budget for food and supplies, monitoring expenses to stay within budgetary constraints.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensure all health and safety guidelines are met in the camp.
Promote hygienic practices in food preparation and general camp upkeep.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and logistical skills.
Experience in hospitality, camp management, or food service.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
Ability to work flexible hours during peak season demands.
