Job description - Key Responsibilities: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise café front of house staff Monitor budgets to ensure that the café remains profitable. Set menu prices in alignment with the café budget Listen to customer preferences and make suggestions for menu items Prepare weekly work schedules for staff Ensure that all café expenses are within budget and identify ways to decrease operational costs. Take inventory of café supplies and order new stock as needed. Receive delivered café supplies and verify that the correct items and quantities have been delivered. Resolve customer complaints regarding food quality and customer service. Suggest new menu items based on customers' preferences and feedback. Identify strategies to retain and attract customers. Ensure dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance. Plan menus in conjunction with Chefs Take reservations and greet guests Be available to work in split shifts. Experience required: Must have experience as an assistant manager or above in a café or restaurant. A relevant diploma or above in business, management or hospitality management. Skills must include: Marketing, training skills, computer and organisational skills. Excellent communication, leadership and motivational skills. Budgeting skills. Customer service skills. Committed to team, establishment and excellence. Positive attitude, outgoing, friendly personality. Ability to work competently under pressure. Reliable and flexible to change. Location: Gisborne Positions available: 1 Employment type: Permanent, minimum of 30 hours a week Rostered work hours: 5am to 3pm Monday to Friday, 6am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday. Pay rate: $30 to $32 per hour depending on experience Applicants must also be able to work public holidays.
