We are a busy cafe based in Royal Oak, Auckland. We serve coffee, baking items, and A La Carte cuisine. We are now hiring a cafe manager to independently manage the day-to-day operation of the business:
Full responsibilities for the management and operation of our cafe.
Dining room management, customer service management, including but not limited to conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service, handling customer complaints, and public relation management.
Bookkeeping for the restaurant including working hours of staff, wages calculation, purchasing records, stock records, financial management etc.
Staff recruitment, training, setting out staff performance standards, maintenance of service quality and standards, task allocation, shift arrangement, and termination.
Grocery/drinks order/purchases according to budget and stock management.
Decisions on discounts offered to particular clients and reservations, and special promotion price setting up.
Menu planning and updating for baking items and A La Carte meals from time to time, in conjunction with the head chef.
Special function and catering service planning and organising (wedding banquet, birthday parties, etc.), price negotiation, organisation, and coordination.
Health, safety, and hygiene management to ensure high standards are maintained to meet the requirements of the relevant regulations.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
NZQF Level 5 or higher qualification in business/management/hospitality fields, or at least 3 years' relevant work experience.
Excellent managing, marketing, and communication skills.
Barista skills as you will need to train staff when necessary.
Manager certificate as we hold an on-licence.
Clear-minded, positively motivated, able to work under pressure.
Sound knowledge about hospitality industry operations.
Ability to work on weekends when necessary and be resilient and conscientious as we open 7 days a week.
No drug using history and can pass a pre-employment drug check.
Clean police record.
Able to work in early and late hours.
