Café Manager / Head Of Kitchen

Responsibilities:Manage opening and closing procedures, ensuring smooth operations.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas, including workspaces and guest areas.Manage food preparation, ensuring quality, freshness, and safety.Provide exceptional customer service, including taking orders and addressing customer inquiries.Supervise inventory management, including ordering supplies and restocking as needed.Delegate tasks to staff and ensure an efficient workflow.Delegate breaks to staff on shift, ensuring coverage is maintained.Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality control measures.Update signage and displays to enhance customer experience and attract business.Managerial Duties:Monitor staff performance and provide feedback for improvement.Maintain relationships with suppliers and coordinate product ordering and delivery.Adjust staffing levels based on business needs.Address customer complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner.Foster a positive work environment and team culture.Food Preparation Duties:Lead the creation and development of food items for the cafe's daily menu, ensuring variety and appeal.Coordinate with other food preparation staff to ensure cohesiveness and consistency in all food items.Develop and maintain written recipes for all menu items, ensuring they are easy to follow and consistently executed.Communicate recipes and preparation techniques clearly with all food preparation staff to maintain consistency across shifts.Coordinate with order staff to ensure stock has been ordered and communicate any specific requirements or changes in inventory needs.Utilise communication platforms to ensure efficient communication with other staff and track inventory orders and needs.Order necessary stock and ingredients for food preparation, ensuring adequate inventory levels.Work closely with other food preparation staff to plan and execute food production efficiently.Practice efficient time management by prepping food during service hours.Monitor and manage food costs, staying aware of changing prices from suppliers and adjusting orders accordingly to maintain profitability.Additional Expectations:Adapt to changing needs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Lead by example in providing excellent customer service and upholding company standards.Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.Other duties as assigned by management.Application Questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as a Head of Kitchen?Do you own or have regular access to a car?Are you available to work public holidays?Are you willing to relocate for this role?
