The Role: CADS Youth Community Support Worker MHAOD
The primary purpose of this role is to support the Clinical Service Lead, Mental Health & Addiction Services, Te Hononga Hou, in the managed delivery of high quality clinical Kaupapa Maori Mental Health and Addiction Community Clinical Support Services for youth and adolescents within a Whanau Ora framework. Comprehensive clinical treatment assessments and therapeutic interventions for young people and adolescents with Mental Health and/or Addiction issues are essential features of this role.
This will require the clinical support for Whanau who may suffer from episodic, severe and complex needs and will also require that those needs are attended to effectively by Kaupapa Maori practices incorporating Whanau Ora best practice principles. A fundamental characteristic of this role is the essentiality of teamwork and the effective referral of clients to other Trust or to the effective Services of other Agencies.

What You Bring
Professional Integrity : Exceptional interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to maintain self-care. You will either hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or above (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing to commence study towards this qualification.
Experience : Three years post-graduate experience in Mental Health and Addiction, preferably with a community and/or primary care focus. Significant experience of working with all Mental Health and Addiction clients.
Team Spirit : Self-motivated and independent, yet thrive in a collaborative environment.
Adaptability : Comfortable working in the dynamic setting of Mental Health and Addictions.
Cultural Competence : Sensitivity to working with all cultures, particularly Maori.
Tech Savvy : Proficient in computer skills.
Problem Solver : Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Customer Focus : A professional attitude with great customer service skills and attention to detail.
Essential : Clean, Full NZ Driver's License essential for local travel.
