SUPPLY CHAIN Rocket Lab's Supply Chain team is responsible for the flow of all materials, products, and components through the business. With many of our own products functioning as critical components to our own and our customers' missions, the Supply Chain team has a direct impact on the success of our rocket and satellite programs. They set up the assembly kits that enables our technicians to put together our Electron rockets, manage inventory, look after shipping and receiving, manage direct and indirect procurement, and inspect and ensure that all of our materials and products are compliant and up to standard. They are the chain that links our teams together, and are critical to our success. BUYER At Rocket Lab, buyers are key players in our mission. They drive engineering R&D, secure vital supplies, and ensure cost-effective, quality production. Their expertise spans sourcing, negotiation, and contract management, with a focus on raw materials for structural components. Success in this role requires demonstrated negotiation skills and the capacity for autonomy. Additionally, adeptly managing timelines, priorities, and juggling multiple tasks is crucial. Previous experience in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment is advantageous. Lots of variety, great exposure to Aerospace! WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO: Assess vendor capabilities, prices, and delivery needs to convert requisitions into purchase orders. Ensure on-time delivery of purchased parts to Rocket Lab. Cultivate strong business relationships with assigned suppliers. Manage the RFQ process for competitive bids and optimal pricing. Collaborate closely with Engineering teams for procurement needs and serve as the main R&D order contact. Update material planners on purchase order statuses and expected delivery dates. Negotiate supplier terms for quality, cost, and timely delivery. Provide status updates to material planners on purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery. Perform other duties as assigned by your manager pertinent to your role. YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS: Works under moderate supervision, with proficiency in a specific discipline. Proven sourcing, onboarding, and negotiation skills with suppliers with minimum 3 years experience. Knowledgeable in purchasing processes. Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, effective prioritisation. Excellent verbal and written communication. Team-oriented, adept at multitasking in fast-paced environments.
