The Opportunity RP's Business Systems team designs, implements, and maintains systems and processes that support business objectives, improve our organisational efficiency, and enhance our overall performance through the use of data and analysis.
We have a critical new role for a Power BI Business Systems Analyst to join the Business Systems team.
In this role, you will be accountable for enabling data-driven decision-making within our organisation by transforming raw data into actionable insights.
You will work closely with stakeholders across RP to identify and develop reporting needs, ensuring data accuracy and optimising performance.
By leveraging the capabilities of Power BI, you help foster and influence a data-centric culture, empowering teams to make informed decisions and drive strategic initiatives.
This involves gathering, preparing, and modelling data from various sources to create interactive dashboards and reports that facilitate the understanding of complex information.
You can look forward to training and developing our broader team members to enable the best use of Power BI and its data source systems.
You will be involved in supporting end-users to maximise Power BI to drive business decisions and deliver optimum performance across the business.
Minimum Requirements A data or computer science relevant qualification or 3+ years equivalent experience in a similar role.
Experience working in cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver analytics solutions.
Experience in developing and deploying Power BI reports in a production environment.
Understanding of business intelligence concepts and best practices in data visualization.
Proven experience in data storytelling, effectively conveying insights and recommendations through visualizations.
Proficiency in Snowflake and Power BI.
Strong skills in SQL for querying and manipulating data from relational databases.
Knowledge of data modelling concepts, including relationships, measures, and calculated columns using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
Ability to analyse complex datasets to derive meaningful insights.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Very good organisation skills and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills, used to dealing with a diverse range of people, personalities, and backgrounds.
Previous experience working within a manufacturing business, including an R&D or development company.
Advanced technical skills in other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) or programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is advantageous.
Understanding of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design principles to enhance report usability.
This is a permanent full-time role.
You will initially spend time at both of RP's sites, currently located in Te Puna and Tauriko (both in Tauranga).
However, in early 2025, we will be based at a new HQ solely located in Tauriko, Tauranga.
