This role manages & develops, continuous improvement, a positive safety culture & behaviours to deliver OceanaGold's Health and Safety service provision to the underground mining department.Key responsibilities:Ensuring that Risk Management processes, Principal Hazard Management Plans/Principal Control Plans are optimized to meetreduction of accident and injury prevention within the operations.Ensure compliance with Underground Mining regulatory requirements and internal standards.Support the development of a positive Health and Safety culture based on interdependence and accountability which is identifiable at all levels of operations.Actively participate in internal and external audits for Health, Safety and Environment and make recommendations for enhancements and improved performance relating to non-compliance issues.Assist in leading site incident investigations to identify causes and establish controls to prevent reoccurrence.Comply with all health and safety requirements and observe all company policies and procedures.Manage and communicate with the team to create a unified approach across the site safety functions that has a common direction, purpose and strategy.QualificationsQualifications in Health and Safety Management and/or Occupational Health (Desirable)Full and Current Driver License & the ability to drive a manual vehicle.Experience/exposure to cross-disciplinary mining practices (Desirable)Minimum five years operational mining (or other related industries) experience (Mandatory)Additional InformationCompetitive salary package, incentive plan & free Southern Cross Healthcare.Live & work in Waihi, gateway to the stunning Coromandel.Enjoy the flexibility of an 8/6 roster (days only).OGC VALUES: CARE | RESPECT | INTEGRITY | PERFORMANCE | TEAMWORKOceanaGold is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.If you share the same values and have what we are looking for, please apply online now via our careers website:https://careers.oceanagold.com/jobs**Applications close 20 November 2024.
