For the right person, this role will be hugely rewarding.Te Aute College and Hukarere Girls' College are known for their Te Hahi Mihinare special character and have a long-standing reputation of educating young men and women, who leave school equipped with the confidence, aptitude, and skills they need for life and work, whilst offering an environment that celebrates Maori culture.
Te Aute Trust Board is the Proprietor in respect to both schools and operator of the Boarding facilities which are integral to the successful operation of each school.This role is all about ensuring effective management and service delivery of these two very special hostels based here in Hawkes Bay.The Business Manager is an operational leadership role, and we need someone who can influence and optimise the service delivery of the hostels.
Your core function will be to provide oversight and help ensure efficiency and effectiveness across all non-supervisory functions at the wharenoho (boarding hostels) sitting under Te Aute Trust.
Your responsibilities will span finance and administration, human resource management, payroll, property and resources, contract management, and policy development along with regulatory and Health and Safety compliance.
You will work closely and report to the Campus Principals but also have plenty of engagement with the wider school staff, members of the Te Aute Trust Board, and whanau of the school.To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a broad base of operational and management expertise.
It will be crucial you have understanding and relatability to Te Ao Maori and an appreciation for the special character of the schools.
Strong baseline skills in financial administration will be crucial as you will need to be confident in managing the budgets across the Te Aute Trust operations.
You must be capable of leading a team, have strong stakeholder management skills, and be able to develop trust and engagement in your relationships.
