What you'll be doing - Te whakamahere This role is key to enabling NZTE's business objectives by leveraging company data to drive business solutions through designing and developing SQL-based Data Marts, and dashboards, tools and reports that drive value from the organisation's information.
This includes but is not limited to:
Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translating them into SQL-based Data Marts.Utilising Kimball Dimensional Modelling techniques, specifically Star Schema, to design and implement data structures that support robust reporting and analytics.Ensuring the integrity and quality of data within the Data Marts, and implementing best practices for data validation and cleansing.Utilising Microsoft Power BI to develop and maintain high-quality reports and dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and relevance for business decision-making.Working closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver comprehensive BI solutions.What you'll need to be successful - O Pukenga This role will suit someone who has proven experience in successfully translating business requirements into efficient and scalable SQL-based Data Marts that meet stakeholder expectations in terms of functionality and performance.
The role requires someone who can design and implement data structures using Kimball Dimensional Modelling techniques that support robust and flexible reporting that are optimised for performance and ease of use.
Being able to design and deploy quality dashboards, tools and reports that drive value from the organisation's information is a must.
You will also need to be highly computer literate and experienced working in a Data Warehouse environment and experience in one or more current Business Intelligence applications, preferably the Microsoft stack.
You will need specific technical skills in:
Using Microsoft PowerBI, Azure SQL Server, Visual Studio, Analysis Services, Azure Devops, and ETL code merging using Git.SQL-based Data Marts: Development, maintenance and deployment including designing and implementing ETL stored procedures.Kimball Dimensional Modelling: In-depth knowledge of Kimball Dimensional Modelling techniques, particularly Star Schema design.Power BI: Experience with Microsoft Power BI to create and maintain reports and dashboards.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.Why you'll love working here - Nau mai ki Te Taurapa Tuhono NZTE is a truly global organisation where we work across different time zones and offer flexibility because of this.
