The role coordinates responses to official information requests under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act (LGOIMA), working across the organisation with staff to understand their obligations and ensure compliance with requirements. Alongside this, you will also support stakeholders across Council to understand and comply with legislation for council-controlled organisations. The role further processes insurance claims, liaising with Council's insurance broker to progress claims to settlement. Additionally, the role supports the risk and assurance functions of Council through administrative tasks and report writing.About youThis role requires strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others to achieve the best results. Some knowledge of the Local Government Act and/or the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act would be beneficial, but it's more important candidates come with the ability to pick up and understand these pieces of legislation.
