Here's your perfect opportunity - Mount Mainstreet is looking for their next Business Improvement District (BID) Manager to take our region's crown jewel to the next level and make it "the place to be" while supporting our business community to thrive.About the organisation:Mount Business Association (MBA) or more commonly known as Mount Mainstreet, is an incorporated society established in 1993. We support member businesses by working closely with business owners, the Council and the community to enhance business success and growth by creating a vibrant and inviting downtown where businesses want to be located and visitors want to stay longer. MBA represents over 240 businesses within a set boundary and are funded by a targeted rate from TCC. MBA is governed by a voluntary board of local business owners who are passionate about business in Mount Maunganui.About the role:You're responsible for the day to day management and promotion of Mount Mainstreet. Delivering the Association's annual plan and working closely with key stakeholders across our five key pillars: Promotions, Placemaking, Member Community, Safety & Security and Advocacy.Key Responsibilities:Lead advocacy efforts with local government and key stakeholdersSeek external funding opportunitiesBuild and maintain strong relationships with member businessesCoordinate placemaking initiatives and community eventsOversee safety and security programsManage and adhere to budgetsReport to the Board and council on strategic initiativesEnsure compliance with governance requirementsWork closely with the Operations and Content ManagersWhat You'll Bring:Proven experience in stakeholder relationship managementStrong commercial acumen and business understandingExperience in advocacy or public/private sector engagementProject management capabilitiesExcellence in written and verbal communicationUnderstanding of business improvement districts (desirable)The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience In:Business development or community engagementWorking with local government or public sectorManaging multiple stakeholders with competing interestsProject delivery and budget managementBuilding and maintaining business relationships35hr PW role with flexible working arrangements (hours negotiable for the right candidate)Opportunity to shape one of NZ's premier business districtsWork in the stunning Mount Maunganui locationThis is a unique opportunity to lead the development of Mount Maunganui's business district, working with a dedicated board and engaged business community to enhance one of New Zealand's most iconic locations.Start Date: Mid-February 2025Full-time fixed term positionInitial one year contract with potential to renewBased in Mount MaunganuiMust have the right to work in New ZealandOnly shortlisted candidates will be contactedHow do your skills match this job?How do your skills match this job?Sign in and update your profile to get insights.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?
