About the Organisation:
Mount Business Association (MBA), commonly known as Mount Mainstreet, is an incorporated society established in 1993. We support member businesses by working closely with business owners, the Council, and the community to enhance business success and growth by creating a vibrant and inviting downtown where businesses want to be located and visitors want to stay longer. MBA represents over 240 businesses within a set boundary and is funded by a targeted rate from TCC. MBA is governed by a voluntary board of local business owners who are passionate about business in Mount Maunganui.
About the Role:
You're responsible for the day-to-day management and promotion of Mount Mainstreet, delivering the Association's annual plan and working closely with key stakeholders across our five key pillars: Promotions, Placemaking, Member Community, Safety & Security, and Advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead advocacy efforts with local government and key stakeholders
Seek external funding opportunities
Build and maintain strong relationships with member businesses
Coordinate placemaking initiatives and community events
Oversee safety and security programs
Manage and adhere to budgets
Report to the Board and council on strategic initiatives
Ensure compliance with governance requirements
Work closely with the Operations and Content Managers
What You'll Bring:
Proven experience in stakeholder relationship management
Strong commercial acumen and business understanding
Experience in advocacy or public/private sector engagement
Project management capabilities
Excellence in written and verbal communication
Understanding of business improvement districts (desirable)
The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience In:
Business development or community engagement
Working with local government or public sector
Managing multiple stakeholders with competing interests
Project delivery and budget management
Building and maintaining business relationships

Full-time fixed term position
