We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Specialist to join our team of APC Technical Solutions experts at NZ Safety Blackwoods. Our Technical Solutions division is privileged to represent multiple key industry names for instrumentation, gas detection, hose & fittings, and flow control – and we invite you to join us! New Plymouth is noted as one of the Taranaki regions; however, please note you can also be based in Wellington for this role.
You will play a pivotal role in achieving our sales and margin targets in the Lower North Island (New Plymouth to Wellington), with 3-4 days of travel required once a month. Your primary objective will be to drive continuous growth and ensure the seamless supply of our technical solutions, products, and services. Prior experience in the industrial and or hydraulic hose segment would be preferable but not essential for the right candidate.
Role ResponsibilitiesDrive sales and margin growth in the Lower North Island region while effectively managing the process.Formulate action plans to boost revenue and achieve targets, implementing them with precision.Undertake special projects focused on target industries, markets, and customers, demonstrating exceptional project leadership.Lead the way in RFP and contract negotiations, ensuring favourable outcomes for the company.Deliver compelling presentations and provide training to customers, effectively communicating the value of our products and services.Ensure strict adherence to company policies and safety protocols in all work conducted.Identify customer needs and offer customized solutions tailored to their requirements.Monitor the sales pipeline, manage CRM, and proactively track opportunities for maximum efficiency.Foster collaboration and establish partnerships with other business units, leveraging their expertise for mutual success.Embrace a growth mindset, constantly seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.Skills And ExperienceMinimum of five years of relevant industry experience (Technical product sales or Account management and preferably experience in industrial and or hydraulic hose).Demonstrated expertise in consultative sales and effective negotiation techniques.Proven track record in building and maintaining business relationships.Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.Proficient in time management and adept problem-solving.Highly organised professional with a strong commitment to work ethic.A tertiary qualification in a relevant field - engineering/electrical (preferred).About UsNZ Safety Blackwoods is the country's leading supplier of industrial products, personal protective equipment, packaging, and workwear, as well as industry-specific training, testing, and consulting services.
