About the jobMarnco has entered the market to offer exceptional value to Kiwi farmers. We seek a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in Southland. This role is pivotal in identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, developing and implementing sales strategies, and consistently meeting sales targets. A key focus will be delivering high-quality fertiliser and nutrient products from our warehouse in Mount Maunganui. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2C sales, focusing on the agricultural sector, and will bring a passion for sustainable farming practices.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive Sales Growth: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets in the Southland region, with a specific focus on fertiliser and nutrient products.Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, leveraging existing networks and creating new ones. Continually look for ways to add value to the farmer through our range of fertiliser and nutrient offerings.Market Expansion: Identify new market opportunities for fertiliser and nutrient products and develop tactical plans to generate new revenue streams.Strategic Planning: Work closely with the Commercial Manager to execute sales strategies and manage customer relationships, particularly focusing on our fertiliser and nutrient products.Contract Management: Oversee the administration of customer contracts for fertiliser and nutrient products, ensuring timely execution.Event Management: Organise and manage informational customer events in the Southland region to promote our fertiliser and nutrient products.Sales Reporting: Provide regular reports on sales performance versus budget, update forecasts, and offer detailed market intelligence specifically related to fertiliser and nutrient products.Customer Satisfaction: Proactively manage customer complaints and incidents related to fertiliser and nutrient products to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.Sustainability Initiatives: Promote and support sustainability initiatives in alignment with Marnco's goals, focusing on sustainable fertiliser and nutrient solutions.Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for sales teams and customers to improve product knowledge and sales techniques, emphasising fertiliser and nutrient products.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.Experience: Proven track record in Business Development, Sales, and Account Management, particularly within the agricultural sector and specifically with fertiliser and nutrient products.Skills:Strong negotiation and communication skills.Strategic planning and market research abilities, particularly in the fertiliser and nutrient market.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Knowledge of local market dynamics in Southland is a plus.Attributes:Proactive and self-motivated with a strategic mindset.Strong analytical skills for sales forecasting and detailed reporting, especially for fertiliser and nutrient products.Ability to leverage technology and digital tools to enhance sales processes and customer engagement.Personal and Professional AttributesDemonstrate a proactive approach and be a self-starter.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Open to feedback and willing to incorporate it into work practices.Effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including customers and internal teams.Capable of managing and resolving customer complaints and incidents proactively.Promote and support sustainability initiatives that align with Marnco's goals, particularly those related to fertiliser and nutrient products.Leverage technology and digital tools to enhance sales processes and customer engagement.Additional ResponsibilitiesDevelop and conduct training sessions for sales teams and customers to improve product knowledge and sales techniques, focusing on fertiliser and nutrient products.Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans for market expansion and customer acquisition in the Southland region, with a focus on fertiliser and nutrient products.Utilise CRM tools to track customer interactions, sales activities, and performance metrics.Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and promotional materials tailored to the Southland market, particularly for fertiliser and nutrient products.Identify and implement innovative sales techniques and approaches to stay ahead of market trends in fertiliser and nutrient products.Assess and manage potential risks associated with sales activities and customer engagements.Actively participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build relationships and stay informed about market trends in fertiliser and nutrient products.Collect and analyse customer feedback to inform product development and enhancements, particularly for fertiliser and nutrient products.What We OfferCompetitive remuneration package with performance-based bonuses.Company vehicle.Five weeks of annual leave.A supportive environment for training and development.Opportunities to work in a fast-paced environment where we continually look to add value to the grower through our fertiliser and nutrient products.Our CommitmentMarnco is dedicated to the growth and prosperity of Southland and New Zealand farmers.
