An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team as soon as possible.
This role is responsible for supporting the Director of Sales and Marketing and the wider Sales & Marketing team.
The Business Development Manager works closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing to achieve hotel and departmental budgets, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness with all aspects of the Sales Department. Duties include sourcing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts and in conjunction with the Director of Sales & Marketing creating and implementing sales & marketing strategies The Business Development Manager will ensure elevated levels of guest satisfaction, and compliance in all aspects of sales policies and procedures.
This position requires a collaborator with an abundance of energy, passion, and strong relationship skills. Previous extensive experience in hotel sales is advantageous.
This role is based in Wellington and the position reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
The ideal candidate for this role will:
Have a comprehensive knowledge of sales (hospitality industry preferred)
5 + years sales experience
Strong cold calling and relationship management skills
Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
A high level of motivation and enthusiasm
Experience with sales systems
Excellent attention to detail
The ability to work in a busy environment and achieve results in restricted time frames
A well organised and positive approach to every aspect of their work
The position will include, but is not limited to:
Identifying business opportunities for the hotel with the primary focus on developing the Corporate, Government and Conference markets.
Actively promote Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland (opening in September 2024)
Assist the Sales team developing to identify business opportunities for the hotel and liaise appropriately with all operational departments to ensure the successful and profitable delivery of events.
Actively promote and sell all Grand Chancellor Hotels as part of the group approach, interacting with the wider GHI sales teams in managing accounts, sharing intelligence, and gathering of data, participating in promotional and joint venture opportunities.
