If you love the outdoors, enjoy forging new relationships, and excel at sales, read on… We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team, primarily focusing on expanding our market presence in Australia and New Zealand.
This role will suit a high-energy, keen, and responsible individual who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and excels at both maintaining existing customer relationships and driving new business development, much like a founder.
About the role: You will be responsible for continuing sales growth while strengthening existing customer relationships.
This is a true hybrid role, with an estimated 70% focus on new business development and 30% on established accounts.
The ideal candidate will be office-based in Christchurch, New Zealand, but will be required to travel frequently to service both New Zealand and Australia.
The main duties of this role include: Growing and maintaining reseller networks for our rooftop tents and camping range.
This includes finding and appointing new partners, onboarding and training them, and building brand buzz that motivates them to sell our brand.
Driving growth and expanding market presence for our corporate apparel range through strategic partnerships and targeted sales initiatives.
This includes developing an active new customer acquisition sales pipeline, nurturing prospects into customers, and delighting new customers with our service.
Managing large corporate collaborations and ensuring a positive customer experience that leads to new opportunities and repeat business.
Collaborating with Bushbuck team members to leverage opportunities and maximise our combined strengths.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following: Experience in the outdoor industry or a related field is highly advantageous.
A valid car licence, as you will have the use of a fully maintained 4WD promotional vehicle.
A strong passion for sales and the desire to achieve and succeed.
Get-up-and-go, the ability to work within ambiguity, and self-manage based on your agreed priorities.
Ability to build and close a large pipeline of customers, utilising a CRM system.
Demonstrated ability to handle challenging customers and maintain a trusting relationship.
Proven ability to deliver results against budget with excellent time management skills.
The ability to work both as an engaging team member and autonomously.
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Not afraid to pick up the phone and confident in communication.
Most importantly, a genuine interest in your customers and pride in providing a high level of service.
