As an integral part of New Zealand's sporting landscape, with a rich history of finals appearances, a strong suite of corporate partners, and exciting new ventures set to launch in 2025, the future is bright for the "Nix".ROLE SUMMARY:In a newly created role, as the Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Commercial with commercial development for all parts of the Club including A-Leagues, Academy and new ventures which will commence in 2025.PurposeGenerate and maintain a steady pipeline of new prospects to feed into the commercial sales funnel.Conduct outbound outreach to identify, qualify, and schedule meetings with leads, passing them to the commercial team for further engagement and progression.Oversee and optimize the commercial CRM system, including lead tracking, contact management, segmentation, and process automation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.Perform market research and segmentation analysis as needed to support business development initiatives.Collaborate with third-party providers to deliver effective market and sales research for optimal outcomes.Support the commercial team with matchday operations as required.Key Responsibilities:Business Development: Proactively seek and qualify new leads via an array of business development activities.CRM Management: Oversee and optimize the CRM system, ensuring streamlined and automated processes are embedded.Matchday Support: Assist the commercial team with matchday operations.Your Background:You might be a recent graduate from a leading university with internship experience, eager and driven to seize your first opportunity in the world of professional sport. Alternatively, you could be transitioning from the corporate sector, looking to bring your commercial and new business acquisition experience into the dynamic environment of professional sport.In either case, you'll need to be resilient, innovative, and solution-focused, ready to create and develop new commercial opportunities for all pillars of the Wellington Phoenix.Desired Skills and ExperienceProven experience in business development / lead generation.Track record of consistently achieving sales targets and KPIs.Outstanding relationship management skills with the ability to relate and connect with a diverse range of backgrounds.A self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit and ability to build sales narratives and opportunities to Corporate New Zealand.Experience using CRM systems.A business degree in Marketing, Sports Management, business or similar would be an advantage.This is initially a 6 Month contract commencing in January 2025.To apply for this role please submit your CV and profile via Seek.Applications Close – Friday the 3rd of January 2024.Interview Process – Will commence from W/c January 6th, 2025.
