The Business Development Associate will help to identify opportunities, prepare proposals, manage client relations, support project transitions, and stay informed on market trends to drive growth across New Zealand and Australia.Your duties will include, but are not limited to:Identify and target new business opportunities by researching markets, discovering partnership potential, and establishing relationships with prospective customers to generate leads and RFQs.Prepare tailored proposals, ensuring they align with company goals and market needs, and assist in bid preparation, including defining pricing strategies to meet profit margins and project requirements.Coordinate communication with clients and internal teams during the proposal process, ensuring clear and timely updates for both sides, and support negotiations to secure contracts.Support ongoing projects by collaborating with project managers, ensuring smooth transitions during the handover phase post-contract award, and assisting with the commercial aspects of the projects.Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs, actively contributing to continuous improvement of the bidding and business development processes.Build and maintain strong relationships with customers throughout the sales cycle, ensuring ongoing support and identifying further business opportunities after deal closure.Qualifications and experience:Experience in developing relationships, generating leads, and closing deals, ideally in B2B sales within construction, renewable energy, or engineering sectors.Excellent verbal and written communication, with a proven track record in negotiating and engaging with a diverse range of clients.Eagerness to learn and understand technical solutions, collaborating with teams to tailor offerings to client needs.Experience in market research, identifying business opportunities, and making informed decisions on leads and RFQs.Strong organisational skills, with experience with proposals, bids, and project handovers.Energetic, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a passion for growth and teamwork.We are looking for a candidate with a positive, proactive, and self-motivated attitude, who takes ownership of their work and demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility.
