Job Title: Business Development Manager - Corporate Insolvency

Reports To: Head of Insolvency & Restructuring
Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Corporate Insolvency is responsible for driving business growth within the insolvency and restructuring sector. The role involves identifying distressed businesses, developing strategic relationships with key stakeholders (such as banks, legal advisors, and accounting firms), and securing new insolvency and restructuring cases. The BDM will work closely with insolvency practitioners, legal teams, and financial advisors to align business development efforts with the firm's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

Market Research & Analysis:

Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify potential clients facing financial distress or in need of restructuring services.
Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors that could impact the insolvency sector.
Analyze competitor activities within the corporate insolvency market.


Client Relationship Management:

Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, legal firms, accountants, and corporate finance advisors.
Manage the full client acquisition process, from identifying distressed businesses to closing engagements.
Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through consistent communication and by delivering tailored solutions.


Strategic Planning:

Develop and execute business development strategies specifically targeting the corporate insolvency market.
Identify opportunities for the firm to offer services such as insolvency proceedings, company voluntary arrangements (CVAs), administration, and liquidation.
Collaborate with the insolvency and restructuring team to ensure alignment of business development initiatives.


Revenue Generation:

Meet or exceed revenue targets through the acquisition of new clients and the successful execution of insolvency cases.
Identify cross-selling opportunities within the firm's broader service offerings, such as legal advisory or financial restructuring.


Collaboration:

Work closely with insolvency practitioners, legal, and financial teams to develop comprehensive service proposals for potential clients.
Provide insights and feedback from the market to the service delivery teams to refine and improve service offerings.


Reporting & Analysis:

Prepare regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and revenue forecasts.
Monitor the performance of business development strategies and adjust tactics to ensure optimal results.


Networking:

Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities relevant to insolvency and restructuring.
Build a strong network of contacts within the insolvency sector to enhance the firm's market presence.



Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Number of new insolvency cases acquired.
Revenue generated from insolvency and restructuring services.
Client satisfaction and retention rates.
Success rate of proposals and pitches.
Quality and timeliness of market intelligence reports.
