This role is responsible for gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements and processes to support the delivery of product development strategy and organisational goals.As a Business Analyst for our Technology team, you will contribute to functional solution design of proposed features and enhancements, acting as the voice of the customer and working closely with stakeholders and cross functional teams to communicate and define requirements.With a commitment to innovation, you will work to drive improved customer and business process outcomes by providing sound analytical insights to help guide MTF Finance's product development to the future.This role is based in our National Office in Dunedin, so you must be located in Dunedin or willing to relocate.Please note we have two Business Analyst positions available, one that is technical and one that is process-driven. By applying for this position, you are applying for our process-driven Business Analyst.Just some of the things you're responsible for:Business Process AnalysisWork closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business needs and pain points, to support a holistic view of process optimisation opportunities.Define cross-functional business processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, user experience, data integrity and resilience.Develop and maintain business process models, including process flows and use cases.Define and document business rules, policies, and procedures, developing recommendations to optimise business operations and support decision making.Software DeliverySupport delivery teams by gathering, analysing, defining, and documenting requirements and business processes to enable successful feature design to provide exceptional experiences for customers.Play a lead role in collaborating with stakeholders to gather input and consensus, through workshops or interviews.Translate both technical and business terms, working closely with engineers to ensure alignment on product and business goals.Support the engineers with creation of test plans and carry out test activities where needed including UAT.Work collaboratively as a delivery team member, executing on deliverables during the sprint and contributing towards team goals and supporting the agile ways of working.You'll need to have:At least 5 years proven success in a business analyst or related role.Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.The ability to develop and use analysis techniques e.g., process modelling, story maps.Project management and business process methodologies and tools, including agile.Collaborative working style, with a commitment to and understanding of human-centred design approaches.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret data and insights and identify opportunities for improvement.Knowledge of product and software development lifecycle.Knowledge of digital enterprise enablement technologies and practices.Be able to create and maintain applications, system documentation and product development artifacts.What you'll receive in return:We're an iconic New Zealand business on a mission to be New Zealand's favourite finance company, and we're proudly based in Dunedin!A dynamic and collaborative culture with a central and modern office space and a team who enjoy working together and who are proud to be MTF'ers.Plenty of development opportunities, coaching and support.Competitive remuneration package which includes fully funded medical insurance, performance incentives that are based on both individual and business outcomes, and flexible leave options and benefits.The opportunity to progress your career in Dunedin.
