Mo te tunga I About the role As the Technical Business Analyst you'll be working across a number of initiatives in the Ministry's Information Domain within a range of communications, cyber and information technology based projects and programmes that are either in definition or delivery phase.
You will have strong technical skills acting as the intermediary between end-users, Solution Architects and the technical delivery teams. You will be capable of supporting projects of all sizes and complexity and have the flexibility to adapt your approach accordingly.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders to ensure understanding, and at times, to reconcile conflicting perspectives.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Engaging with stakeholders to understand the critical activities of the enterprise that must be performed to meet the organisational objectives, while remaining solution agnostic.Developing business requirements including Business Value Packages, Epics, Features and User Stories, formalising these into documents that act as a guideline to make decisions regarding project priorities, design, and structure to ensure the project remains aligned with the overall goals of business.Maintaining configuration and change control of project business requirements.You will also have:
Experience working on complex technical, communications and information technology projects within a business requirements, business analysis or other associated analytical role.Proven examples of working as a Technical Business Analyst within agile teams.Proven experience working in technical requirements development from designing requirements with Solution Architects and stakeholders of varying seniority, leading discussions to obtain prioritisation and acceptance criteria, through to testing solutions and gaining acceptance from the user.The ability to critically analyse complex problems and assess multiple options before making recommendations.Strong leadership skills with the ability to build trusted relationships, inspire others, and obtain consensus when working with stakeholders with conflicting views or priorities.A good understanding of business analysis methods, tools and techniques and change management methodologies.We ask all our people to undertake a commitment to doing their part to deliver on the Crown's commitments to Maori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
