Job Title: Senior Technical Business Analyst (Data)Location: Wellington, hybrid working from office, working from homeContract Length: 3 months with potential for extensionStart Date: 16th September 2024Come be part of our Enterprise Data Transformation programme helping us move from a legacy SQL Server Data Warehouse to a Databricks Data Lake platform. This migration is not just about moving data - it's about shaping the future of our business, enabling us to leverage predictive analytics and machine learning to drive strategic decisions.You'll play a key role in this process, working closely with our internal experts to document the requirements and support the development of a comprehensive RFP. Your primary objective will be to ensure that the RFP accurately reflects the technical and business requirements, helping us identify a vendor capable of delivering a seamless and effective migration solution. This work will lay the foundation for selecting the right vendor to execute this major migration.Key ResponsibilitiesRFP Development Support:Collaborate with the Programme Manager and procurement team to gather and compile the technical and business requirements needed for the RFP.Ensure the RFP documents are comprehensive and clearly define the migration scope and vendor expectations.Stakeholder Engagement:Work closely with key knowledge holders to extract and document critical information about the existing SQL Server Data Warehouse.Liaise with various business units to capture their needs and ensure these are reflected in the RFP.Data Warehouse Documentation:Document the existing 30 TB SQL Server Data Warehouse, including over 2,000 stored procedures, queries, and views critical to business operations.Ensure that all necessary technical details are included in the RFP documentation.Data Governance And Quality:Collaborate with Data Governance and Quality Specialists to integrate data governance and quality standards into the RFP.Risk Identification:Identify potential risks in the migration and RFP process and document them to guide the selection of a suitable vendor.Key Skills And Experience:RFP Development Expertise: Strong experience in supporting the development and organization of RFPs for complex technical projects.Database Migration Knowledge: Understanding of large-scale data migrations, particularly from SQL Server to Databricks, including familiarity with stored procedures, data integration, and data quality.Stakeholder Management: Ability to gather and document requirements from various stakeholders to ensure they are accurately represented in the RFP.Technical Acumen: Familiarity with SQL Server, Databricks, and related technologies.
