We are seeking an experienced and innovative Business Analyst/Developer to join our team in a new role designed to expand our capacity for system requirements gathering and documentation for our Tier 1 programme. This position will focus on understanding and enhancing our current systems and processes to improve operational efficiency and data management.
This critical role forms part of the production team within the Monitoring Information and Support Team, focusing on the setup and maintenance of systems that support our field operations. The position is essential for assessing current technologies and identifying the changes needed to enhance our operational capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
Collaborating with users to capture system requirements and document existing processes.
Developing comprehensive documentation for our monitoring data processes and tracking operational activity.
Providing specialist data system advice and implementing solutions as needed.
Developing and implementing standards and audits to ensure data quality.
Fostering relationships with team members and stakeholders, facilitating the sharing of ideas and resources.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience
A minimum of three years of experience in a Business Analyst or Developer role, with a proven ability to understand and document complex systems.
Strong technical capability in system analysis and development, including hands-on experience with SQL, MS Access, and bespoke systems.
Ability to see the big picture and understand interdependencies between systems, ensuring comprehensive solutions are implemented.
Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive change and improve systems.
Familiarity with environmental, biological, or biodiversity data, particularly in relation to large-scale collections, is advantageous.
Experience with diverse biodiversity monitoring and predator control methods which can be through volunteer community-based efforts.

The salary range for this position is $79,656 to $100,639 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
