We are seeking a Business Analyst who will play a critical role in driving data-driven decision-making and optimising resource allocation to meet Council objectives. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with stakeholders and apply your business analysis expertise throughout project lifecycles to support business improvement initiatives.
You'll also actively contribute to the leadership team, helping to strengthen our performance culture. Notably, 50% of your responsibilities will focus on supporting the People & Capability team, making this a dynamic and impactful position.
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of:
Assist in identifying and documenting business improvement opportunities, focusing on system and process efficiency.
Lead financial analysis and business modelling for workforce planning, transformational change, and collective bargaining.
Work with stakeholders to understand needs, map business processes, and identify optimal solutions.
Develop and maintain personnel reports, including lists, costs, vacancies, and efficiency targets.
Collaborate with People and Capability and Finance teams on the financial update for annual performance reviews.
Conduct financial and budget analysis for workforce planning and personnel costs.
Analyse data to support business cases and budgeting processes.
Support the delivery of business improvement projects, including planning and documentation.
Provide analysis and support for GL structure and job costing review projects.
Assist with systems implementation and upgrades, including the HR information system project.
What you'll bring to the team:
Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
5-6 years of experience in a senior business analyst or accounting role.
Strong background in financial and data analysis and reporting.
Skilled in in-depth data analysis and reporting.
Experience with analysing and developing business and technical requirements.
Excellent organizational skills, with a track record of meeting deadlines and handling stress.
Flexible and capable of managing changes to systems and processes.
Proven ability to plan, analyse, and deliver results.
Skilled at solving complex problems.

Salary range for this role is between $100,155 to $111,283 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
