Fixed term role – Office of the Pou Whakatere, Atea a Rangi – Strategy group Business Advisor (6 months fixed term, secondment backfill)Te Haeata | The Opportunity The Office of the Pou Whakatere is a small team that supports the Pou Whakatere, Deputy Secretary Strategy and the Atea a Rangi – Strategy group leadership team.
The Office of the Pou Whakatere provides strategic advice to decision-makers on group challenges and opportunities through influence and connection across Atea a Rangi – Strategy and other Ministry business groups.
The Business Advisor informs the provision of advice and supports the coordination of, and response to, corporate reporting and official correspondence.
Other responsibilities include trouble-shooting, supporting business group alignment, and providing independent analysis of group challenges and opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated advisory experience in large and complex organisations, including:
Advising executive leaders and their teams to enable effective decision-making.Comfort with ambiguity, a proactive working style, and experience operating in environments with limited direction.Working as an influencer across organisational business groups with varying unit goals but shared organisational goals.Communicating with a wide range of audiences on a range of complex issues.Familiarity working within te ao Maori and understanding of te reo, tikanga, kawa and matauranga Maori.At Te Tahu o te Ture, the Ministry of Justice, we're committed to strengthening people's trust in the law of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $72,634 and $100,846, based on skills and experience.
