Joining a dedicated team, you will perform a range of tasks relating to building-related BCA and Territorial Authority (TA) functions. This primarily involves processing building consent applications, Certificates of Acceptance, Project Information Memorandums and Exemptions and TA related activities.You will have:3-5 years experience in a similar role.R1-2 and C1-2 competency.A qualification recognised in Regulation 18 of the Building Regulations 2006 Act is essential. Reporting to the Chief Executive, this opportunity is a mix of strategic and operational skills.A key focus of the role is delivering a high quality, customer-focused building control and planning function for the district. This will involve applying a forward-thinking and innovative approach to how the function can be further developed.Other key responsibilities include managing the Environmental Health, Liquor Licensing and Animal Control and Compliance functions of the Council.With four direct reports, the role will require a person to develop and empower a high performing, customer-centric regulatory team while they look up, out and across the district, local government sector and beyond. Skills & Experience:The successful candidate will have a building control or planning background, with solid experience working with the RMA, building industry legislation and policies and procedures. Ideally, you will have developed strong commercial skills, bring a strategic focus and understand how to balance a regulatory approach with positive outcomes.
