Building Control Officer (Building Consents) Do you have a passion for maintaining high standards in building safety and compliance? The Far North District Council is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Building Control Officer to become an integral part of our vibrant Building Consents Team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety and quality of our community's built environment.
Te Wero – The Challenge
In this role, you will play a crucial part in assessing and approving building consent applications, conducting inspections, and ensuring that all building work complies with relevant legislation and standards.
Key Accountabilities:
Perform building control functions per the Building Act 2004, Building Code, and relevant regulations.
Maintain an enabling mindset, respecting cultural and social differences to achieve compliance.
Self-manage tasks promptly, adhering to FNDC Quality Manual, conduct policy, and BOINZ ethics.
Develop and maintain competency as per the National Competency Assessment System.
Foster a collaborative team environment and apply Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 principles.

The salary for this position is Grade 15 within Council's salary structure (Band: $75,115 to $88,371 pro rata per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
