The Salvation Army Whangarei Bridge Centre exists to provide safe, integrated, high-quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. Our services are evidence-based best practice and are known for being people-centred, caring, transformative, and responsive.
We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified Social Worker or addictions counsellor for our residential programme based in Newtown, Wellington.
Key Responsibilities:
Provision of casework that provides integrated care for those experiencing co-existing problems of addiction and mental health.
Group facilitation.
Working within the framework of The Salvation Army Bridge Programme Model of Treatment.
Implementation of the Salvation Army Bridge Programme Policies and Procedures.
Person Specification:
Degree in Social Work or addiction counselling.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
DAPAANZ Registration.
Commitment to continuing professional development relevant to addiction studies.
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, sharing information, ideas, and effective practices while maintaining client and service privacy and confidentiality.

Hours of work: This is a permanent full-time role of 40 hours per week; however, part-time hours may be considered for the right candidate.
The starting salary for this role falls between $74,000 - $77,500 annually depending on experience.
