Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We continue to build on our successes in the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi and local authority bridge management space.
We're responsible for a range of assets across the wider Northland region, including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and river protection structures.
We have an exciting opportunity for a civil or structural engineer/technician to join our Whangarei bridge team.
As an integral part of our nationwide structures team, you'll be a key part of the delivery of our asset management services in the Te Tai Tokerau/Northland region.
This role will involve: Inspecting the condition of roading structures such as bridges, culverts, gantries, and retaining walls Identifying structural damage, deterioration, scour, erosion, and other issues Recommending maintenance solutions and estimating repair costs Completing accurate and concise inspection reports Organising your inspection programme and logistics Assisting with inspections using elevated work platforms or drones Assisting with emergency inspections or monitoring Supporting the team with various tasks including site investigations, testing, and data collection While being based in Whangarei , this is a predominantly site-based role, travelling across the whole Te Tai Tokerau/Northland region.
You will have the opportunity to travel further and assist with inspections in Auckland, Waikato, or Bay of Plenty from time to time.

Ko wai koe | About you You will have a background in construction, inspection, or the maintenance of structural assets.
Ideally, you'll have roading network experience.
You will have an enquiring mind, be a problem solver with an ability to think laterally.

We're looking for a full-time employee but will consider 3 or 4 day weeks for the right candidate.
