The Brew Bar Manager and Chef role is to be passionate about slow brewing and all things coffee, to lead the Brew Bar team whilst giving our customers a fun & educational Sublime Experience.
Alongside this role you will also be Brew Bar Chef, managing the daily operations around the food offerings, developing menus, maintaining food quality standards, overseeing food training of others who work in the Brew Bar, monitoring inventory and cost control, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service.
The role involves maintaining consistency in Sublime processes and procedures at all times and holding up-to-date knowledge of our products, and business background to ensure that our customers receive an exceptional Sublime experience.
A high level of communication with other team members, foresight and planning is required.
Minimum Requirements: Minimum 3 years management in related food industry roles is required.
Experience in leading a team, menu design and implementation, and a proven ability to produce a high standard of food products needs to be shown.
Coffee knowledge and barista experience is also required.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the Brew Bar.
Be up to date with your coffee knowledge - coffee processes and procedures.
Have up to date knowledge of all of our blends & single origins offerings.
Have up to date knowledge of our retail offering, including pricing and how to operate the equipment for sale.
Attend ongoing in depth training sessions with the Head Trainer.
Direct and timely communication with the Operations Manager (or owners, HR, and Management when required).
Run a monthly meeting for the Brew Bar team.
Carry out assigned tasks as directed by the Operations Manager (including, but not limited to: training tasks, process and procedure demonstration, induction processes with new staff, ordering, and finding cover for shifts).
Work with the Roastery Manager to ensure your team contributes to the overall cleanliness of the Roastery.
Maintain the equipment in the Brew Bar and report any technical issues in a timely manner.
Plan and prepare food products to a high standard, following recipes and processes, ensuring this level of quality is maintained by all team members.
Follow viral food trends and implement in a timely manner.
Form necessary relationships with suppliers.
Follow ordering procedures to purchase supplies.
Implement strategies to maximise sales and profitability.
Monitor customer feedback, resolve issues, and strive to continuously improve the overall dining experience for Sublime Brew Bar customers.
Identify training needs in staff and plan to work alongside them if possible, or communicate with the Operations Manager to arrange other training.
Ensure compliance with current Food Safety regulations and Health and Safety Regulations.
