Are you passionate about cooking and thrive in a busy kitchen environment? New Plymouth Boys' High School is looking for a dedicated Breakfast/Lunch Cook to join our boarding kitchen team, catering for 190 boarders.
In this crucial position, you will be leading our dinner meals in Hatherly House for up to 200 individuals and assisting with catering functions during the school term.
Your role will play an integral part in ensuring the smooth operation of our hostel kitchen, working closely with the Lead Breakfast/Lunch Chef and the Head Chef to ensure the highest standards of food are prepared and served for our boarders at school.
Skills and Experience A strong team player with a positive attitude.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
Shows initiative and problem-solving skills.
Prepare and serve nutritious breakfast and lunch meals for boarding students.
Ensure meals are presented attractively and meet dietary requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following food safety standards.
Assist in menu planning and stock management.
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

40 hrs per week during school term (40 weeks a year) and some school holidays where needed. Days of work are Thursday - Monday (negotiable).
The remuneration for this position will be negotiated depending on experience (Concurrent with the 'Caretakers, Cleaners and Canteen' collective agreement).
