Chiefs Rugby Club – Hamilton East, North IslandThe Chiefs Rugby Club was founded in 1996 as the Waikato Chiefs for the inaugural Super 12 season. The Chiefs are 1 of 6 NZ professional rugby union teams who play in the Super Rugby Pacific competition. Based in Hamilton, the Chiefs primary home ground is FMG Stadium Waikato, but covers the region including Counties, Bay of Plenty, Thames Valley, King Country, Taranaki and Waikato. The Gallagher Chiefs won back-to-back Super Rugby Championships in 2012 & 2013. In 2019 they broke the record for most consecutive playoff appearances by a Super Rugby team with an 8th consecutive appearance. In 2021, history was made when the Waitomo Chiefs Women faced the Blues Women in NZ's first ever women's Super-Rugby match, and in 2022 the Waitomo Chiefs Manawa went on to win the inaugural Women's Super Rugby Aupiki Competition and were finalists in 2023 and 2024. The Gallagher Chiefs were finalists in 2023 and 2024 and have a world class coaching group which includes Head Coach Clayton McMillan and a playing roster with senior and up and coming All Blacks.The Chiefs Commercial & Marketing team are responsible for promoting the Chiefs Rugby organisation, driving commercial revenue, building brand engagement, and creating value for partners of the club.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesLead media and brand-led communications in the annual marketing plan implementation.Provide brand guidelines oversight & implementation across any marketing collateral.Lead copy writing for all organisational communications.Coordinate media sessions & interviews with playing/coaching group & assist in tracking player hours allocated to media activities.Create & distribute media advisories, releases and coordinate with wider rugby stakeholders like NZR, SR clubs, PU's, etc.Build relationships with media outlets to drive positive media coverage.Coordinate Chiefs brand content requirements with sponsors to ensure their marketing campaigns are integrated in communications appropriately.Conduct interviews with players and staff for content platforms and sharing with media outlets as needed.Assist Experience team in communications for events.Lead brand signage & ensuring sponsor contractual obligations met with Accounts teams.Monitor & report on campaign effectiveness.Contribute to the upcoming season's marketing campaign programme of work and communications planning.Lead communications about team, player and rugby announcements.Develop the ASM report.Ensure there is adequate marketing and communications support/coverage for the pathways, community events, and PU's.Applications - a c.v. and covering letter can be emailed to ******.
