Our Waste Management Technical Services Division is a specialist team of highly qualified staff with purpose-built processing facilities and specialised Dangerous Goods transport. Waste Management Technical Services can process hazardous and liquid wastes safely and with full compliance to government and council laws and by-laws governing liquid and hazardous waste disposal. Job Description Waste Management has an excellent opportunity that has arisen for a high performing and commercially aware Branch Manager managing our resource recovery park, composting and landfill operation. The role will be based in the Thames/Paeroa area as this is central to our site with an office on site at Tirohia. The Coromandel Peninsula is nearby and is a place that offers hunting and fishing, diving, outdoor activities, and some of New Zealand's best beaches while being placed in the centre of the golden triangle of Auckland, Hamilton, and Tauranga. This role reports through to the Regional Manager – Eastern Waikato and is supported by a strong regional and corporate support network. The position responsibilities cover the full operational and financial management of all aspects of our business including leading a strong safety culture, environmental compliance, operational staff management and plant maintenance while meeting financial and growth targets and budgets and interacting with our large customer base including our Council customers. Qualifications The person we are looking for must have a proven health and safety performance record and background demonstrating operational excellence to provide and maintain a safe and efficient workplace for our team and customers. Ideally, you will have had experience managing large civil works with a focus on environmental and consent compliance. Additional requirements include: Key characteristics – honesty, integrity, ownership, and accountability Strong Civil engineering and/or environmental management qualifications and experience A solid background in managing consents and compliance. Experience managing a small/medium-sized team including operational and support staff and contractors. Strong analytical and communications skills Ability to contribute within multiple levels of the business in both written and verbal settings. Ability to interpret the P&L with a strategic and growth focus.
