As the flagship brand in the Freightways Group, NZ Couriers has enjoyed strong growth over recent years, and we are looking for an experienced Branch Manager to join our team.
About the Role
Invercargill Branch is a very strongly performing part of the NZC network, with a passionate team of staff and contractors who take great pride in their branch. As Invercargill Branch Manager you will be responsible for the continued operational and financial success of the Invercargill and Southland region . Our business is experiencing significant growth, and this newly created role will focus on the development and delivery of strategies to ensure operational and financial KPIs are achieved.
Based at our Invercargill branch , you will be a key member of the Regional Management Team. Identifying opportunities for growth and service improvement, fostering a culture of high performance, and delivering meaningful results will be key areas of focus.
Responsibilities will include:
Foster strong customer relationships, and seek out new opportunities to drive continued business growth
Lead and partner with contractors, suppliers, and staff teams to improve operational outcomes
Analyse financial performance to identify improvements
Prepare and review budgets, plans, and contingency plans
Identify and recommend opportunities for structural and operational change
Oversee recruitment activity and planning
Lead health & safety compliance and a zero-harm culture
About You
People are at the heart of our business and your leadership approach should be people first. Empathy and an ability to connect with people at different levels and from all backgrounds will serve you well in this role. Experience in the courier or freight sectors will be an advantage, but we are open to candidates with strong transferable skills gained in other sectors. An understanding of high-volume, fast-paced operational environments will be a key strength. Previous responsibility for divisional P&L is preferred and you should be skilled at analysing data to find business insights.
