The business is experiencing significant growth and with that, a new opportunity has presented itself for a Branch Manager with a background across warehousing and transport to join the team in what will be a key role in the business to support their future growth and performance in the South Island. It is an exciting period of time for the business as they have some exciting projects and continuous improvement opportunities coming up over the next few years. The opportunity The position of Branch Manager will lead all activities related to warehousing and transport operations across the South Island, from their Christchurch operations. The role is responsible for the South Island warehouse operational performance against budget and customer contracted KPI's. The role will lead the operations team to optimise resources and minimise cost to deliver an industry leading warehousing solution feeding into their NZ networks. The role will be hands on and will require an in-depth knowledge of warehousing, logistics and transport in order to appropriately further align themselves in the third-party logistics market. You will need to be hands on and be operationally exceptional and competent and not a high-level theoretical leader. Many of the customers would be designated "blue chip" businesses in New Zealand and include global companies' operations. The role recognises their continued focus on retaining and growing customer relationships and being the supplier of choice to existing customers to create a mutually beneficial and rewarding business partnership. The Branch Manager will provide the senior leadership team with accurate and timely information on the operational and financial performance of their South Island function. What's in it for you? You will also be a subject matter expert across warehousing processes, technology, continuous improvement, labour management and key performance indicators with the ability to be a strategic thinker to understand future trends, issues and opportunities.The position will be based in Christchurch and on top of base salary will be a company vehicle and annual bonus based on performance.
