Role descriptionIn this role, you will take responsibility for sales management in one of our Red Cross Book Shops. This includes ensuring that the shop runs smoothly, all sales processes are followed, and that there is sufficient resourcing for shop sales.This role will ensure that all volunteers are kept informed of activities and procedures and will work closely with our book shop team.We're looking for someone who can attend monthly meetings with our local Branch.Your tasksManagement of in-store book shop sales (EFTPOS, opening and closing registers)Overseeing online sales (TradeMe, Fishpond)Supporting a team of volunteersVolunteer requirements and trainingThis role requires someone who:has good communication and problem-solving skillsenjoys working with a group of dedicated volunteersloves booksGuidance, training, and support will be provided by our Red Cross team.Min age: 18 yearsTraining: 1 to 4 hoursVetting: New Zealand Police – working with children/young peopleHealth, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW)Make sure your actions (or lack of actions) don't harm your health, safety and wellbeing, or harm anyone elseTake part in a HSW induction, training, programmes and activitiesFollow all instructions given to you about health, safety and wellbeingFollow all NZRC HSW policies, standards and procedures about health, safety and wellbeingMake sure you have the right training for any activities you are doingUse personal protective equipment (PPE) for any work activities that may need it to stay safeIf you spot a hazard, or you are involved in an incident or near miss, report this straight away
