He angitutanga | About the roleThe Kaitiaki Ropu Support Officer supports our Treaty Partner forums throughout Otago and Southland. This role offers a great opportunity to use your sound administration and organisation skills, providing high quality governance support to the Kaitiaki Ropu, to support conservation efforts and Treaty Partner engagement within the Southern South Island region.Your ability to get things done coupled with initiative and passion for a great cause will complement this fantastic and stimulating working environment. Key responsibilities include: producing high-quality minutes for meetingssupport Ropu members with travel, accommodation, expenses and general administration tasks as requiredpreparing documentation including agendas, minutes and collating of papers for huisupporting sub-committeesonsite coordination of all Kaitiaki Ropu hui's, which will give you the opportunity to travel to some special places within the Southern South Island regionco-ordinate engagement for concessions and communications for iwi. Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experienceWith your diligent and proactive nature and strong sense of initiative you will have the ability to become key support to our Treaty Partners.We would love to hear from you if you have: Cultural capability and awareness – understands Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is able to engage with iwi, hapu and whanau.Able to take and produce high quality minutes.Previous experience working in partnership with iwi.A high level of organisation skills, the ability to deliver on time and solve problems as they arise.Great communication skills – with the ability to work across a wide range of people.Ability to deal with confidential/sensitive material with discretion.Organisational skills, the ability to deliver on time and solve problems as they arise.Knowledge of Microsoft computer applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).Experience in diary and email management, travel and event coordination is helpful but not essential.Ability to attend meetings throughout the Southern South Island (Otago / Southland) region.A current New Zealand driver licence. Desirable Understanding of tikanga Maori and matauranga Maori would be an advantage.
