Board Secretary Positions Available
We sound new, but only because we have recently changed our name from CES to Schooled. We are recognized as an industry leader offering professional services within the education, trust and not for profit sectors throughout New Zealand. We are part of a non-profit with a long history of supporting the education sector in Aotearoa since 1989. Schooled is a professional organization, leveraging their extensive knowledge base to provide support, products and advice to over 250 schools and a range of not-for-profit clients.
We are expanding our board secretarial service around New Zealand and need additional contract Board Secretaries to support our clients. This work is on a casual, as-required basis, but we aim to have the same board secretary working with the same clients consistently. While we specialize in schools, we also provide board secretary services to not-for-profits and commercial clients.
Most of our clients' meetings are outside of normal business hours, so there is the opportunity to do this as an addition to other work. Most meetings are weekdays between 6 and 9.30 pm, excluding Fridays, although each board and client is different. Schools usually don't have board meetings in the school holidays, or in January.
Do you have knowledge of meeting etiquette and processes?Do you have excellent English and typing skills? Are you able to understand board discussions and distil this down to concise written minutes? Can you get the draft minutes back to the client in a reasonable timeframe? Then you really need to be talking to us!
If you are fluent in Te Reo, then definitely get in touch because we work with a number of Kura Kaupapa Maori as well as English medium schools who want to incorporate more Te Reo into what they do.
