Job title: Board Directors – Otago CricketCompany: Sport New ZealandJob description: Board Directorship – due to the Board three-year rotation policy, OCA is seeking three Appointed Board Directors to join its Board from its AGM held on 23 October 2024.
Three incumbent Board Directors retire by rotation in October, with one of these Directors indicating they will not seek re-appointment, while the other two have indicated they will seek another term on the Board.
The Board of Otago Cricket is a governance board, providing strategic leadership and supporting the CEO in the delivery of the strategic plan.
The Board's main functions include setting the overall direction for Otago Cricket, making policy and strategy decisions, overseeing, and monitoring organisational performance, and ensuring overall accountability and managing key strategic relationships.
OCA has a vision for cricket being a game for all New Zealanders and is committed to encouraging diversity and inclusion, recognising the importance of breaking down discriminative attitudes and behaviours in sport.The successful candidate/s will bring all or some of the following:The ability to think strategically and have well-rounded relationship building skills;The ability to see the big picture, represent the Otago and Southland region, be analytical by nature, and possess good Governance experience;Due to the nature of the Board skill makeup and its diversity objectives, the Board encourages females with chartered accountancy qualifications and experience to apply.
Together with skill set and experience, the Board is interested in persons with a genuine interest and understanding of community cricket and/or high-performance sport.OCA is a regional not-for-profit organisation.
Board Directors are volunteers.
Closing date: 5.00pm Wednesday 25th September 2024.
