Orica, a global leader in mining and explosives, invites applications for the role of Blasting Systems Technician – Hypercharge Drive at our Macraes Underground Mine in South Island, New Zealand working on a permanent dayshift 8 days on 6 days off roster. As a Blasting Systems Technician , you will play a crucial role in providing first-level on-site support for our Hypercharge Drive delivery system, which is used by a single customer. Your responsibilities will include assisting operator-level roles with the day-to-day operation of the system, collaborating with Hypercharge Drive (HcD) technicians on more complex issues, and ensuring the system is maintained to Orica's high standards. The Hypercharge Drive is a key element of Orica's advanced blasting technology, aimed at improving the efficiency, safety, and precision of explosive delivery in underground mining environments. What you will be doing Compliance to maintenance management plans for all assets; Assist in Implementation of Hypercharge Drive within the region; First point of contact for Hypercharge breakdown support; Develop strong/close relationships with key customer personnel; Prompts follow up of customer queries/complaints and maintenance requests; Explosives Magazine management including daily stocktakes; Manufacture of Amex for Transfer to Charmec;(underground explosives delivery unit); Transfer of ANE Emulsion to Charmec; (underground explosives delivery unit); Training customer employees in the Operations of HCD including QA/QC Stewardship. What you will bring Previous experience in a technical role related to mining or explosives is highly desirable; Underground operations experience would be advantageous but not essential; Cert IV Training and Assessing or equivalent would be advantageous but not critical; Mining industry experience; Dangerous Goods Drivers licence; Class 2 Drivers licence; Certified Handler and Controlled Substance License.
