New Zealand Government – Masterton, North Island Salary: $68,535 - $86,423 a year Employment Type: Full time Posted: 12 days ago Position Overview We are seeking a positive and self-motivated leader to join our team as a Biodiversity Coordinator, focused on supporting the systems and processes for prioritisation, allocation, delivery, and review of biodiversity work across the Chathams Wairarapa District.
Key Responsibilities Monitor and report on budgets.
Assist with monitoring and review of non-financial information, performance, and identifying emerging issues.
Provide advice to Rangers to facilitate the consistent capture and recommendation of work aligned with the annual work plan.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills Experience in project management and a good understanding of procurement processes.
Understanding of biodiversity conservation management principles, and DOC biodiversity direction and field operations.
Good analytical skills, identifying anomalies and issues, recommending solutions.
Understanding of financial processes and ways to use resources efficiently.
Proficient user of SAP and MS Office applications.
Skilled in working with experts to understand technical advice and applying and communicating technical information clearly.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Proven high-level experience with Microsoft Office suite, GIS, and other systems.
Outstanding planning and organisational skills, with attention to detail and commitment to achieving team objectives.
Strong commitment to health and safety work practices.
Good financial management and proven ability to work within a budget.
Experience working in partnership with community groups, volunteers, iwi, whanau, and hapu.
Full New Zealand Driver's Licence.
Ability to occasionally travel to Chatham Islands.
A tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience and achievements, in conservation/ecology/biology.
Current First Aid certificate.
Firearms Licence.
