Company:

Details of the offer

Position: Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant
Salary Range: £12.82 per hour
Location: Christchurch
Start Date: September/October starts
Working Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
GSL Education are supporting a local primary school in Christchurch in seeking an experienced Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about supporting children in school in a positive learning environment.
As a Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant, you will be providing support and contributing to ensure a peaceful classroom for the primary school students. Experience planning and leading small group interventions is crucial for this role as this will be a large part of the role, so that all children receive tailored and bespoke provision. The school is mainstream, but some students are working below age related expectations and therefore the lessons and provided support need to cater for these individual needs. Any prior experience working in school or with children with additional learning or behaviour needs is extremely desirable.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience, a genuine love for high-quality primary education, and the patience to work with children who require additional support. The school provides a healthy work-life balance and has a supportive staff community. The position is open for candidates who are looking for some flexible supply work, but also can be a permanent position if proven suitable for the role.
Key Responsibilities: Actively participate in classroom activities, collaborating with teachers to enhance learning and promote pupil engagement.
Help teachers by intervening when students display challenging or disruptive behaviours, handling them with care and reinforcing good behaviour through consistent and positive approaches.
Provide personalised support to students, reinforcing concepts and assisting in their academic journey.
Organise and prepare teaching materials for effective learning, including taking ownership over interventions.
To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant, you should:
Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
