About the role:
Rare New Zealand is seeking a hard-working individual to join our young, dedicated team of migratory beekeepers in Hawke's Bay. As a specialised Manuka honey company expanding into the international market, we are passionate about our craft. We are looking for someone to fill a full-time position to assist with hive management, site planning and beehive maintenance to support the production of our premium honey products. We are particularly interested in candidates who are looking for a long-term commitment, as we are eager to invest in training and support career advancement within our company.
Key responsibilities: Regularly inspect and monitor the health of beehivesMoving beehives from sitesImplement best practices in beekeeping to optimise honey yield and qualityMaintain accurate records of hive activity and production at various sitesContribute to the continuous improvement of our beekeeping operationsPlan full rounds of beekeeping operationsWillingness to commit to long hours during peak seasons What we're looking for: Ideal candidates will have 1-5 years of beekeeping experience, but this is not compulsory and can be learnedFamiliarity with the beekeeping industryAbility to work independently and make sound decisions in the fieldAbility to oversee team members in relation to site planningStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detailPhysical fitness and the ability to work in various outdoor conditionsStrong work ethic and a positive attitudeCommitment to long-term employment What we offer:
