Ministry of Works is looking for a full-time WAITERS/BARTENDERS to join our team and enhance our guest experience. We are looking for motivated people who are comfortable with being hands-on in a busy section or stirring up the perfect cocktail in our bar. Candidates must be attentive to detail and ready to learn.

The tech stuff
Role: Waiter/Bartender
Salary: $25-30 per hour, plus performance incentives (approx $5,000 per year)
Permanent Full Time Employment: Minimum of 30hrs per week rostered for 5 days per week between 10am and 12am
Qualifications/Experience: Some hospitality experience preferred, but not essential; full training will be given.
Job Description:
Job Objective: To effect the overall smooth running of the venue and to provide pleasant and efficient experiences to guests.
Examples of tasks include:
Greet customers warmly.
Serve customers promptly in a friendly manner.
Ensure there is always an adequate supply of clean glassware.
Clean tables and collect used glasses from the tables.
Place used glasses in the washing area for cleaning.
Ensure the customer areas are tidy at all times and displayed in accordance with the establishment's standards.
Advise Bar Manager/Duty Manager of bar supply shortages.
Ensure compliance with liquor licensing laws.
Ensure there is someone behind the bar to serve at all times.
Report any problems with either customer or equipment to Bar Manager/Duty Manager.
Follow instructions from Bar Manager/Duty Manager.
Ensure the safety of the business's property and cash at all times.
Any other duties the employer may reasonably require.
Clean designated areas in accordance with procedures, morning/evening routines and hygiene requirements.
Clean and refill condiment sets.
Ensure table decorations are fresh.
Set tables in accordance with agreed standards, ensuring all items are clean, undamaged and in a good state of repair.
Ensure sideboards on stations are adequately stocked with replacement cutlery and any other items required.
Greet customers professionally and show them to their table.
Assist with any special needs of the customer, i.e. children, disabled or elderly patrons.
Assist diners with food and beverage selection by presenting the menu, explaining daily specials, answering food preparation questions and identifying appropriate wines.
Take customer orders in a pleasant and efficient manner.
Ensure orders are given to the appropriate person to execute.
Serve food and beverages in accordance with agreed procedures, but above all in a professional, courteous manner.
Check with customers throughout their meal for any further needs.
Ensure tables are cleared quickly and efficiently and plates and utensils returned to the kitchen area.
Ensure customers are correctly charged, present the bill and take payment from the customer in accordance with the procedures of the establishment.
Answer phone and record bookings for restaurant reservations as required.
Participate in fire or evacuation drills and ensure complete familiarisation with all exits.
Be aware of and continually maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress.
Report any problems with either customers or meals to the Restaurant Manager or Duty Manager.
Adhere to sanitation, safety and alcohol control policies.
