As Banquet Server, you will have the perfect opportunity to touch the hearts of our guests by making their special occasions truly unforgettable.Please note: The start date for this role will be Mid October 2024, with an end date of January 15th, 2025.What you will be doing:Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service to all guests in a variety of settings, including plated and buffet banquets for breakfasts/lunch/dinner, working lunches, coffee breaks, cocktail receptions, formal evening events/galas/weddings, and off-site catering eventsServe all food and beverage items for assigned banquet functionsExplain banquet menus to guests, assisting those with special dietary needs or preferences as well as providing suitable assistance when recommending beveragesHave full knowledge of all beverage lists and all menu items being servedClear and reset function space, as well as ensuring service areas are clean and tidyAssist with function room setup and tear down as specified by meeting organizersFollow all policies, procedures and service standards, including health & safety and food handling proceduresAbility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidaysQualificationsYour experience and skills include:Previous customer service experience is required, with previous food & beverage and/or banqueting/catering experience preferredMust hold valid Alberta ProServe certificationMust be physically fit with the ability to lift heavy items (trays, chaffing dishes, etc.)Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environmentAbility to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a teamAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesAdditional InformationOur commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: We are an inclusive company and our ambition is to attract, recruit and promote diverse talent.Why work for Accor?
