Location: Walton Lane, Nelson Hours: As required between 9am-5pm, Monday–Friday Salary: £11.81 per hour Age UK Lancashire provides a Day Club service across the county for older people.
The service is based in local centres where older adults attend, providing opportunities for them to engage in stimulating activities that enable them to live independently at home by learning or maintaining daily living skills and remaining a part of their local community.
Day Club staff empower individuals and are caring and compassionate, ensuring that service users are safe and have access to a wide range of meaningful activities and support.
Successful applicants will be appointed as a keyworker for a small group of individuals, usually within a day centre environment and via outreach visits in certain circumstances.
You'll get to know each individual and, working with them and their carers or families, you'll develop a support plan to ensure their needs are met.
You will be motivated, flexible, resourceful, and committed to delivering quality person-centred care and support.
You will deliver activities that promote dignity, choice, and control.
Experience in providing personal care and delivering activities is advantageous.
This is a very rewarding role and suitable for those with experience of working with older adults in both one-to-one and group environments with a range of needs including dementia.
Full comprehensive training is provided.
The nature of the post will require travel across the area.
A full driving licence, appropriate insurance cover, and use of a car are essential.
